Novant Health’s Angela Yochem inducted into CIO Hall of Fame

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Novant Health is proud to announce that Angela Yochem, executive vice president and chief transformation and digital officer, has been inducted into the CIO Hall of Fame from IDG’s CIO. She is one of 11 to receive the award this year. This prestigious honor is bestowed upon a select group of outstanding executives and visionaries who have had a significant impact on the IT profession. Yochem will accept her award at the CIO 100 Symposium & Awards in August.

“Technology leaders today are driving business evolution, and I’m honored to be recognized by CIO as part of a group doing just that,” said Yochem. “At Novant Health, we are constantly evaluating how best to meet the growing needs of our patients and communities through innovative technology. From leveraging digital enhancements for expanded virtual health offerings to launching our Institute for Innovation and Artificial Intelligence where we use AI-based analysis for faster diagnosis and more precise treatments, we are changing the way health care is delivered in our relentless pursuit to deliver a remarkable patient experience.”

Prior to being named to her expanded role, Yochem served as Novant Health’s executive vice president and chief digital and technology officer since 2017. She leads digital products and services and collaborates with leaders across Novant Health, accelerating cross-functional initiatives while exploring new opportunities and new potential lines of business. She also supports cultural and process changes required to achieve and sustain Novant Health’s transformational objectives.

“The CIO Hall of Fame honors business technology leaders whose 10+ years as C-level executives have advanced the CIO role and led their organizations through changing times for great business success,” said Anne McCrory, group vice president of customer experience and operations, IDG Communications Inc. “This year, we are excited to induct 11 outstanding IT executives into the CIO Hall of Fame, as selected by their peers. The winners’ leadership, outlook and contributions to the profession should inspire generations to come.”

The CIO Hall of Fame was created in 1997 to spotlight 12 outstanding IT leaders who had significantly contributed to and profoundly influenced the IT discipline, the use of technology in business and the advancement of the CIO role. Ten years later, in 2007, CIO inducted its second class of honorees into the CIO Hall of Fame during CIO magazine’s 20th anniversary celebration. CIO continues to showcase this elite group of CIOs – now totaling more than 140 – during the annual CIO Hall of Fame induction ceremony. A list of all inductees can be viewed here.
