Located at 11840 Southmore Dr., Suite 100 in the Waverly development, and at 445 S. Kings Dr. across from Metropolitan at Midtown, the two facilities offer a wide-range of urgent care, employer health and basic wellness services on a convenient walk-in basis.

Huntersville, NC, Jan. 27, 2016 – Novant Health Huntersville Medical Center announces the addition of radiation oncology to its existing suite of cancer services, including medical oncology, outpatient infusion, surgical oncology, cancer rehabilitation, navigation, counseling and clinical trials. The offering of radiation therapy is part of the hospital’s long-term commitment to bring comprehensive, quality cancer care to Huntersville patients in their own community.           

Charlotte, NC, Jan. 27, 2016 – On Thursday, Jan. 21 at 6:30 p.m., the Physicians’ Impact Fund presented grants totaling $336,800 to eight local non-profit organizations. The presentation occurred at the Belk House, located on the Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center campus. Grant recipients included NC MedAssist, Charlotte Neuroscience Foundation, Safe Alliance, Anuvia Prevention and Recovery Center, The Relatives-NeighborCare, Ada Jenkins Center, Shelter Health Services, and the Lake Norman Community Health Clinic.

Charlotte, NC, Jan. 25, 2016 – Novant Health Infectious Disease Specialists in Charlotte now provides services for travelers heading to exotic destinations around the world where significant health risks exist. While primary care providers can offer counseling and vaccines to protect their patients for most travel outside the United States, the Infectious Disease Specialists clinic is uniquely prepared to deal with travel to Latin America, South America, Southeast Asia and Africa where typhoid, malaria, yellow fever and other diseases are often found.

Charlotte, N.C., Jan. 25, 2016 – Novant Health Pediatrics Arboretum recently opened its doors to the public, giving south Charlotte families a new, convenient choice for pediatric health care. The clinic offers well-child visits; sick-child visits, which include same-day and next-day care; school, sports and camp physicals; all childhood immunizations and vaccinations; on-site labs and services; and prenatal appointments.

Salisbury, NC, Jan. 20, 2016 – Novant Health Orthopedic & Sports Medicine - Salisbury and Novant Health Vascular Specialists - Rowan have teamed up to open satellite clinics at 1420 US Highway 52 North, Suite B, in Albemarle, North Carolina. The agreement to share clinic space was based on the practices’ dual commitment to make healthcare more accessible and convenient for new and existing patients. 

Manassas, Va., Jan. 6 – On Jan. 1, Novant Health and the University of Virginia Health System closed on the formation of a new regional partnership for Virginia. The name of the new health system is Novant Health UVA Health System.

Chapel Hill, N.C.  – Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (BCBSNC) and Novant Health, Inc. have reached an innovative agreement that emphasizes their ongoing commitment to improving the quality and containing the overall costs of health care.

Winston-Salem, N.C., Dec. 9, 2015 – Novant Health, a not-for-profit healthcare system serving the Carolinas, Virginia and Georgia, has added three new voting board of trustee members: Thomas David Neill, of Bob Neill Inc., Laura A. Schulte, retired Wells Fargo executive, and Deborah McQuitter Ally of United Way Gaston County. Terms begin Jan. 1, 2016 and end Dec. 31, 2018.

Novant Health and Nucleus Medical Media have signed a two-year collaborative agreement to study the effectiveness of using medical animation for patient education. In October 2015, Novant Health began integrating medical animations, created by Nucleus, into a new health literacy program. The program will serve patients with heart failure and pneumonia in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Virginia. 

Manassas, Va., Nov. 23 –Novant Health Cancer Center recently added the TrueBeam STx system, an advanced radiation treatment that performs image-guided stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) to tumors in hard-to-reach areas such as the lungs, brain and pancreas.

Winston-Salem, N.C., Nov. 10 – On Nov. 9, Amy and Overton Harper were recognized as the 2015 Outstanding Emerging Philanthropists by the Triad Chapter of Fundraising Professionals. The award recipients were recognized during the National Philanthropy Day Luncheon at the Grandover Resort & Conference Center in Greensboro. Amy and Overton are generous donors to Novant Health Foundation Kernersville Medical Center.
