Area Patients to Benefit from Enhanced Surgical Capabilities Novant Health Prince William Medical Center announces the advancement of its robotic-assisted surgery program with the addition of the da Vinci Si HD Surgical System®. A dozen specially trained surgeons who are board-certified in general surgery, gynecology and urology now have a new way of treating patients, including single-site surgery.

Novant Health Matthews Medical Center is celebrating the holidays by hosting an indoor tree-lighting ceremony and holiday celebration in its lobby for the community, staff and physicians from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21. The lobby will be filled with beautifully decorated and uniquely designed holiday trees displayed by community and civic groups, nonprofit organizations, churches, businesses and individuals.

The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer season concluded with the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer Charlotte this weekend, raising $1.65 million to advance access to care and funding breast cancer prevention and treatment research. The Avon Walk Charlotte attracted more than 800 participants from 41 states (and Washington D.C.), in addition to two countries. Additionally, 146 breast cancer survivors and 128 men joined together to raise life-saving funds and awareness for breast cancer.

Shared services initiative will help reduce costs, improve patient care Novant Health and Memorial Health announced today a collaborative shared services partnership with Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville, Ga., that is designed to reduce expenses and improve patient care. Novant Health will partner with Memorial Health, a Novant Health Shared Services affiliate in Savannah, Ga., to extend services to Liberty Regional.

A child’s legacy lives on through large toy donation to Novant Health Hemby Children’s Hospital Pediatric patients will now have hundreds of additional toys to make their stay at Novant Health Hemby Children’s Hospital more enriching. On Sept. 3, a local family donated 350 plus toys, which will be shared between Hemby Children’s Hospital and the Novant Health Blume Pediatric Hematology & Oncology Clinic, in honor of 4-year-old Connor—who beat cancer but lost his battle to HLH (Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis) in March of this year.
