Novant Health first and only in N.C. to offer the latest Penumbra virtual reality headsets during cancer treatment

In partnership with the Novant Health Innovation Lab, Novant Health Wallace Cancer Institute in Salisbury is the only cancer facility in North Carolina to offer patients the option of using a Penumbra REAL®i-Series virtual reality headset while receiving infusion treatments or undergoing diagnostic imaging. This technology was funded by a generous donation from Salisbury resident Samantha Haspel and her husband Robert Ring to the Novant Health Rowan Medical Center Foundation. Their donation was made though monies gifted to them as wedding presents.

Health system expands on its previously earned NCQA Health Equity Accreditation WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Following participation in an eight-month long pilot evaluation program, Novant Health has earned accreditation in the first cohort of the National Committee for Quality Assurance’s (NCQA) Health Equity Accreditation Plus program. Novant Health is only one of two health systems in the country to leverage its time and resources to participate in the pilot and receive the NCQA Health Equity Accreditation Plus status.

Novant Health launches overnight virtual lactation support in Wilmington region

WILMINGTON, N.C. – To support mothers around the clock, Novant Health has expanded lactation services by providing private, one-on-one video consultations between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. daily to patients in the Wilmington region. The on-demand, virtual lactation consultations will connect parents who need overnight support with a lactation expert so patients can share concerns, ask questions and get advice with little to no wait.

Novant Health Cancer Institute in Huntersville expands, adds new advanced treatment services

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. – Novant Health Cancer Institute - Huntersville recently expanded its services to provide the latest in advanced radiation and medical oncology treatment for patients in an easily accessible outpatient location close to home. The multiphase expansion project at 10030 Gilead Parkway in Huntersville began earlier this year and includes new technology that will allow patients to receive top-of-the-line minimally invasive radiation treatment services, as well as a new and recently expanded medical oncology unit.

Novant Health has been recognized by Forbes as one of America’s Best Employers By State for 2022, ranking No. 20 in North Carolina. Forbes partnered with market research company, Statista, to create the list, which is divided into 51 rankings — one for each of the 50 states, plus the District of Columbia — and was compiled by anonymously surveying 70,000 Americans employed at companies with at least 500 employees.

Novant Health invests $25.5 million in community impact and health equity initiatives across North Carolina

Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center earns heart failure accreditation

WILMINGTON, N.C. – The American College of Cardiology has awarded Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center with Heart Failure Accreditation with Outpatient Services for its demonstrated expertise and commitment in treating patients with heart failure. The hospital is among only three in North Carolina to earn the accreditation, which is based on the ability to evaluate, diagnose and treat patients with heart failure through pre-hospital care, early stabilization, acute care, transitional care, clinical quality measures and more.
