August 4, 2015 - Winston-Salem, N.C. - Novant Health has become the first health system headquartered in North Carolina to give the Social Security Administration (SSA) access to appropriate patients' health information through Epic's Care Everywhere to assist with social security claims. This access allows SSA to quickly and securely perform a patient search, review a patient's medical history, and confirm or deny a patient's physical or mental disability claim.

Southport, NC, August 4, 2015 ― Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center has earned Quality Respiratory Care Recognition (QRCR) under a national program aimed at helping patients and families make informed decisions about the quality of the respiratory care services available in hospitals. About 700, or 15 percent, of U.S. hospitals have applied for and received this award.

Novant Health extends family medicine hours providing care for infants, children and adults, adds urology and general surgery specialists Southport, NC, August 3, 2015 – The Novant Health Oceanside Family Medicine location in Southport, North Carolina, has expanded its services to include care for the entire family and extended hours from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. every weekday. Salisbury, NC, July 22, 2015 - Novant Health Rowan Medical Center is partnering with Rowan County Emergency Medical Services (RCEMS) to provide transitional care to patients who are at a substantial risk for hospital readmission. This innovative partnership will allow Novant Health to collaborate with county emergency medical services to provide post-discharge and preventive care for its patients. The program goes live Aug.1.

Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast grant will fund mammograms for uninsured and underinsured women Bolivia, North Carolina, July 6, 2015 – The Novant Health Foundation Brunswick Medical Center has received a $46,150 grant from Susan G. Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast to provide free mammograms for uninsured and underinsured women in Brunswick County.

Dedicated physician, devoted husband, loyal friend, father of five and grandfather to seven, Dr. Agner spoke with pride of his many roles. He credited his successes in large part to his wife, Dianne, who stood beside him when Rick Parker, director of Novant Health Foundation Rowan Medical Center, presented the couple with the award.

Leland, NC, June 29, 2015 – On July 15, 2015, Novant Health Oceanside Family Medicine will open a new clinic location in Leland, North Carolina. The office will be located at Waterford Medical Plaza, 509 Olde Waterford Way, Suite 200. Staff began scheduling appointments for the new clinic June 15.
