Donation funds renovation of Novant Health Hemby NICU waiting room

Families with infants in the Hemby Neonatal Intensive Care Unit will have a private place of respite A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Dec. 10 to celebrate the grand opening of Tucker’s Room – the newly renovated waiting room for families with infants in the Novant Health Hemby Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). A $100,000 donation from Speedway Children’s Charities funded the renovation, as well as three isolettes for the NICU.

Novant Health and Halifax Regional Medical Center announce intent to merge

Halifax Regional Medical Center and Novant Health announced today that they intend to merge after a formal process led by the Halifax Regional Board to select a strategic partner. Following a one-year management agreement during which due diligence will be completed, Halifax Regional Medical Center intends to merge with Novant Health.

Brunstetter as the new executive vice president and chief legal counsel for the organization. Brunstetter has been an attorney for nearly 30 years and has served in the North Carolina State Senate since 2006. He replaces Larry McGee who recently retired from Novant Health.

Novant Health One of 10 Grant Recipients at 2013 Avon Walk for Breast Cancer

The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer season concluded with the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer Charlotte this weekend, raising $1.65 million to advance access to care and funding breast cancer prevention and treatment research. The Avon Walk Charlotte attracted more than 800 participants from 41 states (and Washington D.C.), in addition to two countries. Additionally, 146 breast cancer survivors and 128 men joined together to raise life-saving funds and awareness for breast cancer.
