Novant Health lifts flu-related visitor restrictions

Winston-Salem, N.C., April 17, 2017 – As of Tuesday, April 18 at 7 a.m., all Novant Health facilities have lifted the visitor restrictions that were put in place on February 24. During the height of this flu season, Novant Health asked the community to keep visitors age 12 and under out of all its hospital facilities. As a result of the declining number of flu cases seen over the past few weeks, these restrictions have been lifted. The decision has been made in collaboration with other regional hospitals including Novant Health, Carolinas HealthCare System, Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Cone Health, High Point Regional Health System and Randolph Health.

Novant Health reports 2016 audited financial results

Health system repays $350 million of debt, invests in people and communities Winston-Salem, N.C., April 3, 2017 – Novant Health today announced the 2016 audited financial results for the not-for-profit health care system. For 2016, Novant Health reported a net income of $412.8 million on operating revenue of $4.34 billion. The not-for-profit health system also reported a community benefit of $725.5 million, including $122 million of financial assistance to the uninsured and those members of our communities who have the greatest needs.

Novant Health Oceanside Family Medicine adds two new providers

Bolivia, N.C., March 27, 2017 – Novant Health is pleased to welcome Dr. John Scheck and Sara Clagg, NP, to Novant Health Oceanside Family Medicine in Southport. Scheck joined the clinic in February and Clagg joined the clinic in March. Both providers are accepting new patients.

Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center Foundation receives $21,000

Winston-Salem, N.C., March 15, 2017 – In February, Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center Foundation received $21,000 from The Winston-Salem Foundation. This grant marks the third year of support for the addition of two peer support specialists who provide outpatient group therapy and individual sessions at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center’s Behavioral Health Outpatient Center in Winston-Salem.

Novant Health opens intensive diabetes management clinic

Winston-Salem, N.C. – Novant Health opened a new clinic for intensive diabetes management, a one-stop medical care facility for patients with diabetes-related conditions. The new office is located at 1400 Westgate Center Drive Suite 130 in Winston-Salem.

Patrick Kennedy visits Novant Health to address stigma associated with mental illness

In his own words, Kennedy openly shares his struggles with bipolar disorder and addiction. He addresses the stigma associated with mental illness and shares how these brain diseases have impacted both his professional career and personal relationships. Kennedy will visit Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center Wednesday, Oct. 4, to share his story.
