Novant Health opens new breast surgery clinics in Winston-Salem and Kernersville

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – To expand access to the latest in specialized breast cancer care for patients in and around the Triad, Novant Health opened a new breast surgery clinic on July 1 at 2825 Lyndhurst Ave. in Winston-Salem, and a satellite care location at 1710 Kernersville Medical Parkway in Kernersville. The goal of the new multidisciplinary care clinic is to serve as an extension of the Novant Health Cancer Institute, by providing patients with a dedicated care location focused exclusively on breast cancer surgery. The new clinic, Novant Health Breast Surgery, will be staffed by three longtime breast cancer surgeons - Dr. Jennifer Christman, Dr. David Carr and Dr. Lori Kellam. 

Novant Health breaks ground on new breast health center in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C.– To improve access to the latest in specialty care for patients, Novant Health held a special groundbreaking ceremony June 30 to expand its current breast health center, located in the medical tower adjacent to Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center. The $15 million investment project, Novant Health Agnes Binder Weisiger Breast Health Center, will expand the current breast health center to 13,500 square-feet and function as a brand-new, stand-alone and comprehensive breast health center. The Novant Health Foundation is contributing $5 million to the new center, with the goal to ensure that all patients in and around Charlotte have equitable access to breast health services. Designed with the patient in mind, the center will provide convenient access to the latest in diagnostic services for generations to come.

Novant Health and Charlotte Mecklenburg Library announce $1 million investment, community well-being partnership

Novant Health will make a $1 million investment which includes a cash gift of $500,000 to the CommonSpark campaign and $500,000 in in-kind support for program and service delivery over the next five years.

Novant Health to begin vaccine administration for children 6 months to less than 5 years of age

Winston-Salem, N.C. - Following authorization by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Novant Health today announced that it will begin administering the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine to children ages 6 months to less than 5 years of age on Monday, June 27 at select pediatric and family medicine clinics.

Novant Health commits executives to support growth and sustainability of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – In partnership with the Charlotte Executive Leadership Council (CELC), Novant Health will allocate significant resources in support of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School (CMS) system when, in July, an executive goes on loan full time to the school system and another takes on an advisory role. Raki McGregor, Novant Health’s senior vice president of digital equity and community growth, will lead corporate engagement efforts and the implementation of systemwide changes, in partnership with CMS leadership. Additionally, Frank E. Emory Jr., Novant Health’s executive vice president and chief administrative officer, will serve in an advisory role to the school system while continuing his current responsibilities with Novant Health.
