Novant Health named one of Forbes’ 2024 Best Employers in North Carolina

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Novant Health is one of “America’s Best-In-State Employers 2024,” ranking as a top company headquartered in North Carolina, according to Forbes, in partnership with market research company Statista. This year marks the fifth consecutive year Novant Health has been included in the Forbes list.

“We work every day to ensure Novant Health is a remarkable place to work, and we’re proud to be recognized as one of the best employers in North Carolina,” said Seb Girard, senior vice president and chief people and belonging officer. “This recognition is especially meaningful because it is based off feedback from our amazing team members, who care deeply about the role they play in creating a healthier future for the patients and communities we serve.”

America's Best-In-State Employers 2024 were identified in an independent survey of more than 160,000 employees working for companies employing at least 500 people within the U.S. The ranking is open to companies from all industry sectors. Around 4.4 million employer evaluations were considered. The inclusion of data over a three-year period helps identify organizations that consistently perform well over time. An employer's final score is determined on a state-by-state basis and is built on employee evaluations of such criteria as work conditions, diversity, salary, professional development and willingness to recommend the employer to others.

Novant Health has developed a variety of programs and initiatives that support team members professionally and personally, including:

  • Offering competitive compensation and benefits validated by market analysis and investing $175 million in pay increases and bonuses for team members last year.
  • Investing in leadership and professional development opportunities, including the Upward Mobility Educational Assistance Fund that covers tuition and fees for team members interested in becoming registered nurses.
  • Prioritizing the well-being of team members by offering several resources to support them, including an Employee Assistance Program, eHAT (Emotional Health Advocate Team peer support), spiritual care, health programs and webinars and access to NeuroFlow, a free and confidential mobile health app for tracking, assessing and managing stress.
  • Focusing on belonging and providing opportunities for team members to build connections with others across the organization around an aspect of common identity through award-winning business resource groups.
  • Hosting regular virtual town halls open to all team members that allow them to ask live questions and hear directly from the president and CEO alongside other leaders.
