On June 15, Novant Health leaders gathered at the corner of Today’s Woman Avenue and Burton Street to celebrate the groundbreaking ceremony for a new primary care clinic in east Winston-Salem.

Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center opened a new 34,000-square-foot medical office building at 257 Hospital Drive in Bolivia. As the population continues to grow in Brunswick County, leaders at Novant Health are working to increase access to needed health care services.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – On June 13, Novant Health opened its first inpatient rehabilitation unit in Charlotte, designed to provide multispecialty restorative care for patients as they transition home from the hospital. Recovery and rehabilitation care encompasses a variety of medical conditions including heart failure, neurological issues such as stroke, or in some cases, orthopedic surgery. The 10-bed unit is conveniently located inside of Novant Health Charlotte Orthopedic Hospital and will allow patients to receive the comprehensive care they need, at a location that’s close to home.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center’s main visitor parking deck (“Belk Deck” at the corner of Hawthorne Lane and 5th Street) is scheduled for renovations. Effective Thursday, June 1, the parking deck will be closed for construction and alternative parking and drop-off plans will be in place for patients and visitors through Sept. 25.

Novant Health will host multiple hiring events over the next few weeks to connect the community with the health system’s vast career opportunities. To kick things off, “Jobs over Java” will allow job seekers to speak in person with a recruiter over a cup of coffee at Port City Java. These weekly events will rotate locations for those searching for both clinical and nonclinical positions.

Novant Health, together with UNC Health, UNC School of Medicine and Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune, is launching a new psychiatric residency program to train more physicians in southeastern North Carolina and boost the pipeline of much-needed mental health physicians.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – On May 4, representatives from Novant Health and Vannoy Construction gathered to celebrate the structural completion of the new critical care tower at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center. The ceremony, known as a “topping out,” is commemorated when the steel structure’s final beam is welded into place, marking the project’s midpoint. Once complete in early 2025, the five-story, 193,000-square-foot critical care tower will bring the latest in advanced acute care services to the growing population in and around Forsyth County.

The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit that evaluates the safety, quality and patient experience provided by hospitals across the country, has recognized Novant Health’s commitment to safety and quality by awarding the health care system nine “A” Hospital Safety Grades for its Spring 2023 Hospital Safety Grade scoring period. 

Novant Health Pender Medical Center has received nearly $50,000 in grant funding from the North Carolina Healthcare Foundation. The grant will fund more than a dozen training programs, workshops and certifications for team members at Pender Medical Center and Novant Health Home Care.

The prestigious list is compiled based on an independent survey conducted by Forbes and Statista, which surveyed more than 45,000 U.S. employees, working for companies with a minimum of 1,000 employees, across various industries. Participants were asked to anonymously rate their organizations based on criteria such as age, gender, ethnicity, disability and LGBTQ+ equality, as well as general diversity.
