TytoCare launches giveback initiative TytoCareS to donate the company's range of telehealth solutions to communities in need

TytoCareS’ first major giveback is a joint donation with one of the company’s partners, Novant Health, an integrated healthcare system based in Winston-Salem, N.C., with hospitals, physician clinics and outpatient facilities in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. Novant Health is donating more than 330 TytoHome devices to communities in Ukraine that currently lack access to basic healthcare, and TytoCare will donate an additional 50 TytoHome devices. The donation will provide recipients in Ukraine with clinic-quality care, provided by Ukrainian-based providers, at a time when medical facilities have been shuttered due to the ongoing war.

Charlotte family medicine resident ranked top in country, receives AAFP Award for Excellence in Graduate Medical Education

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Novant Health Charlotte medicine resident, Dr. James Muller, is one of 12 family medicine residents from across the country to receive the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) Award for Excellence in Graduate Medical Education. Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center named robotic surgery center of excellence

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center recently achieved accreditation from SRC as a Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery. This accreditation by SRC, a nonprofit patient safety organization, recognizes New Hanover Regional Medical Center’s commitment to patient safety and providing the latest in high quality robotic-assisted surgery for complex gynecological, urological and general surgery procedures, which are performed using the da Vinci surgical system.

The Diversity Impact Awards — which were announced at a ceremony Sept. 23 – honor ERGs, diversity councils and other people who lead and support diversity and inclusion efforts within their organizations. Along with Novant Health’s recognized business resource groups (BRGs), the late Ophelia Garmon-Brown, MD, M.Div., a former Novant Health family physician, was honored with the Executive Sponsor of the Year Award for her inspiring work as the Novant Health Coexist BRG executive sponsor. 

New Hanover Health Advantage offering three Medicare Advantage plans for 2023

Novant Health first and only in N.C. to offer the latest Penumbra virtual reality headsets during cancer treatment

In partnership with the Novant Health Innovation Lab, Novant Health Wallace Cancer Institute in Salisbury is the only cancer facility in North Carolina to offer patients the option of using a Penumbra REAL®i-Series virtual reality headset while receiving infusion treatments or undergoing diagnostic imaging. This technology was funded by a generous donation from Salisbury resident Samantha Haspel and her husband Robert Ring to the Novant Health Rowan Medical Center Foundation. Their donation was made though monies gifted to them as wedding presents.

Novant Health is only 1 of 2 health systems in the nation to receive NCQA Health Equity Accreditation Plus

Health system expands on its previously earned NCQA Health Equity Accreditation WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Following participation in an eight-month long pilot evaluation program, Novant Health has earned accreditation in the first cohort of the National Committee for Quality Assurance’s (NCQA) Health Equity Accreditation Plus program. Novant Health is only one of two health systems in the country to leverage its time and resources to participate in the pilot and receive the NCQA Health Equity Accreditation Plus status.
